  4. Now transfer the chana dal paste to a large mixing bowl. further add spring onion,onion, cumin seeds, Asafoetida, red chilli powder, fennel, gram flour and salt and combine them well.mix the batter very well.
  5. Heat oil in a pan or kadai to fry the pakoda. Take a small portion of the batter either with hands or with a spoon and put it into the pan. Put 5-6 as many pakoda as you can at one time.cooked, turn over with a slotted spoon and continue to fry.
  6. Deep fry on a medium flame.fry till they become crisp and golden brown.
  7. Drain out on paper towel for excess oil to be absorbed. - Fry all the pakodas in the same manner.
  8. Garnish with some spring onion and Serve immediately with green chutney and tomato sauce.
